If you’ve decided to take advantage of our tax services, we guarantee that filing your taxes this year will be an easier process than trying to file on your own. But to make sure we’re able to easily file your taxes and submit them before the filing deadline, there are several pieces of information we’ll need from you:
- Income statements—We’ll need your W-2 for every employer when you use our tax services. If you and your spouse are filing jointly, we’ll also need their W-2 information before we can move forward.
- Other forms of income—Are you self-employed? Do you get income from other sources? You will need to add this financial information to your personal tax return. If you receive a Form 1099 of any type, such as a 1099-A, 1099-B, or 1099-DIV, you’ll need to provide a copy of this form to us.
- Information for tax deductions—Claiming tax deductions can help you minimize your taxable income, which can ultimately lower what you need to pay in taxes. Some of the forms you’ll need to submit include ones that support these deductions. For example, if you want to deduct mortgage interest, we’ll need a Form 1098 from you.
- Receipts for claimed expenses—Some of the most common expenses you can claim on your taxes include IRA contributions, medical bills, charitable contributions, and some types of educational expenses. We’ll need receipts from you for these expenses before we can report them on your taxes.
