Are you considering working with a tax advisor? Choosing us at Brad R. Smith, CPA PC to help with your taxes can make sure you maximize your refund, reduce the likelihood of an audit, and make your life easier come tax time. During our first meeting, there are several questions you should ask us to maximize your experience working with us.

Three Questions You Should Ask Your Tax Advisor

  1. What does the tax preparation process look like? This is our chance to talk about the best way to communicate and work with you during the tax preparation process. Would you like to set up a meeting where we file your taxes in person? Or would you rather send us your documents and let us take care of it? This is one of the things that sets us apart as a tax advisor – we’re happy to do whatever works best for you.
  2. What information do you need from me? Before we can work on your taxes, we’ll need some information from you about your finances. Plan on sharing a copy of last year’s return with us, identifying information about you and your dependents, income statements from your employer, and other information.
  3. How can I improve my tax situation? As your tax advisor, our goal is to help you break even on your taxes. We’ll go over ways to reduce your tax liability while ensuring you’re able to hold onto more money from every paycheck throughout the year.
